[UES "502455" INDIGO AMUNZEN SHIRT "HEAVY FLANNEL SHIRT"]

This is the UES Amundsen shirt.
It was named Amundsen because it was developed in Bishu (Aichi Prefecture) around the time explorer Amundsen succeeded in his most extreme expedition to the Antarctic.

While regular extra heavy flannel uses 10-ply warp yarns and 8-ply weft yarns, this fabric uses 7-ply weft yarns, and uneven yarns, giving the fabric more volume.

All the yarns used are dyed using a method called rope dyeing, and as the dye does not penetrate all the way to the core of the yarn, the indigo appears in different shades as the color fades. The fabric has a slightly unusual weave pattern called Amundsen, which has a matte finish.

The back side is brushed, making it soft to the touch, and the air layer creates a warm feel.
When pre-dyed indigo threads are passed through a loom, the machine becomes stained with indigo, so there are only a limited number of factories that can weave this type of indigo fabric. In addition, they use vintage power looms with low production efficiency, so it is a precious fabric that cannot weave more than 50 meters per day.
By weaving slowly over time, a voluminous, soft yet strong fabric can be created.

The fabric fades little by little with wear, making it an item that you can enjoy changing in appearance.
The silhouette is a beautiful, slender one that is typical of UES.

Size 1 (S) is just right for me (173cm 64kg). Size 2 (M) is just right.
It goes well with both jeans and chinos, so it's very versatile.
Size 2 is just right for my body type. Size 1 is a very good fit. (bitter laugh)
